Known As: The Hidden Empire (隠帝会, In’teikai)
Founded: Post-Meiji Restoration, when Japan’s ancient supernatural clans aligned with emerging zaibatsu families to survive modernization.
Seat of Power: Tokyo, with reach across the Pacific Rim.
Structure: A tripartite alliance of corporate-clan families—each controlling a different aspect of the supernatural economy and mortal governance.

THE THREE GREAT ZAIBATSU - the 3 families
Each family blends traditional hierarchy with modern corporate formality, their boardrooms doubling as thrones of blood and magic. Each is composed of multiple supernatural creatures as well as humans in the know.

🩸 1. The Kurogane Zaibatsu (黒金財閥) 'The Samurai'

Symbol: A crimson crescent over crossed katana.
Industry: Heavy industry, private security, defense contracts.
Supernatural Composition: 70% vampires, 20% humans, 10% mages.

Daimyo: Lord Takeda Ranmaru (武田 蘭丸)
    • Race: Vampire
    • Turned: 1582, age 24
    • Background: Once a samurai retainer of Oda Nobunaga. Turned on the night of Honnō-ji, Ranmaru escaped history to become an immortal warrior-businessman.
    • Personality: Proud, disciplined, xenophobic; despises Western vampires and the “soft” ways of modern youth.
    • Current Goal: To reassert Japanese supernatural dominance by purging foreign influence and absorbing the rival zaibatsu into a unified Shogunate of Shadows.

    Notable Lieutenants:
    • Lady Arakawa Chiyo – A centuries-old geisha vampire turned corporate diplomat; enforces the clan’s strict code of secrecy.
    • General Sato Renji – Mortal ex-SDF officer and Ranmaru’s human vassal; oversees mortal enforcers.
    • The Bloodsteel Unit – Elite vampire samurai who protect Kurogane assets worldwide.

    Headquarters:
Kurogane Tower, Shinjuku — a 90-story skyscraper with a concealed subterranean citadel built from Edo-era stones.

🔮 2. The Hoshizora Zaibatsu (星空財閥) 'The Cyber-Mystics'

Symbol: A stylized crescent moon surrounded by eight stars.
Industry: Media, technology, entertainment, digital surveillance.
Supernatural Composition: 50% mages, 30% humans, 20% vampires.

    CEO: Hoshizora Reina (星空 玲奈)
    • Race: Mage
    • Born: 1995
    • Background: Once Japan’s most beloved idol singer, Reina abruptly vanished at the height of her fame in 2016. Rumors claimed burnout—truth was her awakening to ancient star-magic bloodlines tracing to the Fuji Seers.
    • Personality: Charismatic, calculating, outwardly innocent. Uses charm and social media mysticism to control information flows.
    • Current Goal: To merge technology and sorcery, creating a “digital immortality” platform allowing consciousness to transcend flesh — potentially breaking the vampire monopoly on eternity.

    Notable Lieutenants:
    • Arai Junpei – Human hacker-mystic; manages surveillance and magical data mining.
    • Kanzaki Mio – Vampire producer who curates idol contracts that double as binding pacts.
    • Tomo “DJ Eclipze” Kuroda – Mage and sound-weaver; weaponizes frequency-based enchantments.

    Headquarters:
Hoshizora Ark, a hyper-modern glass tower in Shibuya built over ancient ley lines. Beneath it lies The Neon Labyrinth — a subterranean data temple accessible only to initiated mages.

🐉 3. The Mizuhara Zaibatsu (水原財閥) 'The Bankers'

Symbol: A coiled dragon encircling a wave crest.
Industry: Shipping, finance, pharmaceuticals, spiritual artifacts.
Supernatural Composition: 60% humans, 25% mages, 15% vampires.

    Head: Mizuhara Nobuto (水原 信人)**
    • Race: Human (psychically augmented)
    • Background: A ruthless financier who claims descent from the onmyōji Abe no Seimei. Secretly keeps his mortality as an advantage in negotiations between immortals.
    • Personality: Cold, pragmatic, always playing the long game.
    • Current Goal: To maintain balance between Kurogane and Hoshizora while secretly developing a pharmaceutical that mimics vampiric regeneration — and could end the undead’s biological monopoly.

    Notable Lieutenants:
    • Dr. Kimura Setsuna – Alchemist and biotech researcher experimenting with vampire DNA.
    • Mizuhara Kaito – Nobuto’s son, a mage playboy whose loyalties shift like the tides.
    • Yukari Inoue – Former Shinto priestess turned assassin; carries sacred charms lethal to vampires.

    Headquarters:
Mizuhara Holdings Tower, Minato Ward — fronting as a shipping and trade conglomerate but housing a hidden shrine complex that suppresses supernatural activity.

For over a century, the Hidden Empire of Tokyo has maintained peace under the Blood Accord—a pact uniting three supernatural zaibatsu:

      • The Kurogane Zaibatsu (Vampiric warriors of tradition)
      • The Hoshizora Zaibatsu (Digital-age mages of illusion and mind)
      • The Mizuhara Zaibatsu (Human industrialists wielding forbidden science)

But now, with the Accord’s renewal due in six months, tensions boil beneath Tokyo’s glittering skyline.
      Someone—or something—is sabotaging the balance.
